Default automatic run of an application

I has been working with vb6 Api's from last few months. I want to know who to run an application automatically when the Windows is already loaded .This run could be the first run of the application.Although I know how to run an application automatically during loading the Windows by writting information in the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\..\..\run. But my intention is not to do that Iwant the application to be run ,could be for 1st time or whenever automatically after delay of some time(programmer defined) when the Windows is loaded.
