TELNET in VB

So -- I have a bunch of Hummingbird Basic / Host Explorer telnet
scripts (router work)that I would like to convert to VB. Where can I start to find telnet methods? I hope to avoid all of the low level buffer work.

Anyone know of any samples I might read?
