Default VB2005 Project Build Error

When trying to create a windows application project I get the following error:

"The filename, directoy name or volume label syntax is incorrect".

I have researched on the internet and found that changing settings in Tools - Options - Projects and Solutions - General, to paths which do NOT include &'s should do the trick - but it doesn't, still the same problem. Any ideas?

Many thanks
Ash.

Is the folder that is listed in the paths is acutally there?
