Default Bitmap color-depth issue

Hi,

I'm running into an odd issue under VS2005. I have a WIN32 application which is using some bitmaps which have been imported into the program. The images are True Color but I can't get my program to display them in that way, the best I'm getting seems to be 256 colors. Anybody else have this problem? I've tried to load the bitmap using LoadBitmap() and LoadImage() with the same effect.

Stay sane inside insanity
