Default MasterPage

Hei!

I have a MasterPage holding a tabel. One cell is containing an image, and the other cell is containing a ContentPlaceHolder.

The content-page with a Content-holder, contains the Login-Control dragged from the Toolbox. I have followed the procedure described in the book ASP.NET 2.0 with C#, page 103-115.

But the problem is, that the image from the MasterPage will not render when i run the Login-page on Cassini. Do you know why? The image-path is not recognized. This happens only when the Login-control is within the Content-holder.

It's best to provide resource paths using the application root relative syntax such as:

   ~/images/myimage.gif

This works inside of server controls, but not in plain HTML. The server controls will resolve this path by changing "~" with the site/virtual application root.

...thank you for answering. I am leaving VWD for a while now. It is diffecult to make an approach toward both the HTML-editor and to understand the C# syntax without any knowledge of C#. I am used to the ASP-VBScript-situation with Win, IIS and Access. So now I am starting up with the Beginning Visual C# 2005 book (Oooh, it's heavy). I am looking forward to get a grip on the C# syntax and setting up pages on www with this as a tool.

That's not a bad approach at all. Learn the basics of the language and it will help you to learn the web stuff later on.
