Default HP Director and Windows XP Pro

Can anyone help me solve a conflict I am having with my printer which is an HP Photosmart All In One 2610 and Windows XP Pro. This is a new computer system and there is a argument going on between to two which I can´t seem to resolve on my own. I have un-installed and re-installed about 6 times. No Go! Anyone with the same problem that has figured it out, please let me know. Thanks Marguerite.
