Default Startup templates losing menus

I've been working with Word VBa for 5+ years and have never seen this behaviour before.

I've got three templates that are in Word's StartUp folder, each with its own menu or menus. Usually, when these load the menus are displayed OK, one after the other on the menubar (..window, help,A,B,C,D,E), now for no apparent reason the menu or menus assocaiated with the 'first' template to be loaded (they appear to be loaded in alphabetic order) are being overwritten i.e. if the first template has menus A & B you'll see just ..window, help,C,D,E.

This behaviour is not PC specific i.e. if I distribute the templates the same behaviour is seen on other PCs.

Thanks for any assistance anyone can give.
Martin
