Default Professional PHP Programming

I am looking for suport on some code, but nobody seems to know to whom this book was sold. It is not with Wrox, Wiley or Apress.

Does anyone know how to contact the authors?

My problem is:

I am trying to use the smtp_mail.inc code from chapter 17 on the book
Professional PHP Programming, but I always get the error:

Parse error: parse error, expecting `'('' on line 92....

I tried with no result to identify the source of the problem.

Please help!

Thanks,

VQ

You might want to try and post your question along with the source code in the Pro PHP forum under the Open Source (Linux and PHP) category.

I am looking for the latest edition of the book Professional PHP Programming published by Wrox Press, but this book mysteriously disappears from the wrox.com website. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Vincent.

This book was not purchased by Wiley. You may want to look at Apress.com to find what you are looking for.
Thanks!

Recently (!) I got an old book with the title "Professional PHP Programming", by Jesus Castagnetto, Harish rawat, Sascha Schumann, Chris Scollo and Deepak Veliath.
ISBN: 1-861002-96-3; latest reprint September 2000

This book describes PHP 3.
How useful is it to study this book??
How much of PHP 3 has been superseeded by PHP 5 (or even newer versions)?

I've tried various examples in Chapter 3. These do not work under XAMP on my PowerBook G4, running Mac OS Leopard (Mac OS 10.5.8)

Any recommendations??

Thanks in advance,

Paulus
