Default Professional UML with Visual Studio .NET

I can't seem to get any feedback on this post I put in the proper forum, nor can I get feedback from [email protected], so I will put it here.

Someone, please. Help!

Book: Professional UML with Visual Studio .NET
ISBN: 0-7645-4376-8
Page: 115
Name: Brad
Contact: [email protected]

Description: Step #5 says to "Double-click the message shape. This launches the UML Message Properties dialog, which in turn immediately launches the UML Operation Properties dialog...:

I have triple-checked that I have the Message (call) object connected properly between the two lifelines for the two Activation shapes, but I cannot get the UML Operation Properties dialog to pop up at all, much less "immediately" as is indicated in the book. This would suggest that the Message object is not properly connected, but it is. I have also double-checked that I have selected the proper Message (call).

Does the UML Message Properties dialog pop up first? If so, you're in good shape.

The second UML Operation Properties dialog doesn't pop up automatically if the object that receives the message call has any existing operations. To get the Operation Properties dialog to appear, you need to click the "New" button.

Kevin,

Thanks for the feedback, appreciated.

I am not sure what I was doing wrong the night I wrote my initial query, but the "New" button was greyed out. Plus, the message was not showing the () at the end of "Enter Borrower ID()". For some reason, it worked tonight (both the New button and the ()).

I think I goofed something up along the way, but am ok now.
