URGENT: how to use DTD?

I have IE 6.0. i have included DTD n my file but O/P of the file is not according to the DTD. how can i implement DTD ?

As far as I know IE does not validate xml files on opening, it only uses dtd for entity references. How and what are you trying to achieve? Are you just opening a file in IE or using script to read and display?
