Is there any functions in xslt to find parent/ancestor/siblings of an element.if it is not there how we can do that .i want to check the ancestor of a perticular element.

Use the XPath axes parent, ancestor, preceding-sibling, following-sibling. For example, if the context node is within a chapter element, you can find the chapter as ancestor::chapter.
