Post Node Depth

Good day all

i am stucked in a problem using xslt, i wanna know if it is possible doing it using xslt or not.

is it possible to make a generic xslt stylesheet, that capable of knowing the depth of nodes in different xml node levels such as wordML, spireteam xml,...etc

i googled, but most of the solutions i found, assume the struture of the coming xml document is known (i am assuming that i don't know what the tags are inside the xml document i am dealing with).

regards

I googled "XSLT node depth" and this was the first link: http://www.dpawson.co.uk/xsl/sect2/N2193.html
