I'm responding to this old thread because it is somewhat germane to my current problem.
We're running an intranet site that, within the directory, there is a combination of .asp and .aspx pages. Up until a week ago, it all ran fine. Then, out of (seemingly) the blue, the .aspx pages refused to load, yet the .asp pages still operate correctly. There are a few hands in this page, so obviously someone did something, but I know not what.
We get HTTP 404 errors, "The resource cannot be found." In looking in IIS the address for that virtual directory corresponding to the folder on the web server looks fine. I also checked the MIME types and found, oddly enough, that .aspx was NOT added for the server. This is odd because this server, and IIS, run 2 other sites that are both full fledged .Net built sites. Anyway, I added .aspx to the MIME types, rebooted both IIS and the web server, to no avail.
I am now officially stumped (which really doesn't take that much) and don't have a clue what else to check.
ANY and all suggestions are welcome.
Thanks.
