Hi

I am getting error when i am trying to connect to database. Actually i am fetching data from the database having complex calculation in storeprocedure & taking time to fetch data from database around 2-3 minutes.

after around 50 seconds i am getting error:
"Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. "

I have changed connection time out property, &
 <httpRuntime executionTimeout="1000" maxRequestLength="102400" />
but not able to fetch data.

Please provide any help for this.

I am also suddenly getting this error at random. Did you figure out what was causing it? Were you able to fix it?

What you have to do is simply fine tune your all the store procedures.
are you calling any functions in your store procedures. if yes then its bad practice. instead of calling the function from SP's simply write them in you sp.

make sure with up to 100 rows none of your store procedure/function/view/cursor/Triggers should take more then 2 sec. if it is then there is some prob. as the number of rows get increasing, it will lead to the same error.

so please fine tune all of your store procedure/function/triggers.

Why not try changing the connection time out property of command object

I changed the connection time out property of command object (upto 660) , but due to some reasons it was taking default timeout. Reason I was not able to find out then i fine tuned all my Stroeprocedures & get rid of the error.
