Default Purpose of multiple configurations

Hi all,

May I know what is the purpose of creating multiple configurations for a vs2003 solution (like debug/release etc.) ?

Can I use it in a way in which I can place different versions of a file (aspx / ascx) in each configuration ?

Thanks

Madhu

A program released in DEBUG mode is much heavier then a program released in release mode because of all the DEBUG flags.
