The user will need to view/save or download the reports after they are generated. You can't just save a file to a client machine via the browser.

Yep

Peter is correct, due to security reasons/permission issues, we cannot save a file directly to client's machine. However, options like "Export To Excel" etc can be provided to user wherein he can download the reports.

Adding to Mike and Peters posts, you will need to write your data back to the HTTP Stream and give it a type of application/vnd.ms-excel or application/vnd.ms-word. hth.

I will only tell you how to do it, not do it for you.
Unless, of course, you want to hire me to do work for you.
