Default Delete transaction log from SQL server 7.0

Hi,
In our SQL server one of the databases is occupying 500MB of space for transaction log. I want to clear up the space. I have used DUMP tran DBNAME with no_log but still I see the same size. All I want to do is get more space after clearing up transaction log for that perticual database. Please help.
