Default ASP.NET crashing

Hello everybody,

I configured my ASP.NET 2.0 application on a windows 2003 server. It shows the default login page but when I click login it goes on Internet Explorer error page. I checked the event log and found ASP.NET is crashing for each request. Here's the error message:

Faulting application w3wp.exe, version 6.0.3790.3959, stamp 45d6968e, faulting module kernel32.dll, version 5.2.3790.4062, stamp 46264680, debug? 0, fault address 0x0000bee7.

Any ideas as to how I am getting this and how to resolve this? Let me know if you need any other information.

Thanks.

Hi,

This indicates that the application pool in IIS crashed, and these can be nasty to diagnose.

Firstly I assume you have put the site in debug mode with CustomErrors set to Off in web.config, and IE set to not show friendly HTTP errors? If so, is there anymore information on the page which could be useful?

If you have no luck with that, try reading this post on this MSDN blog which describes how to analyze app pool crashes.
