Default My VB 6 crashes

Hello all. Got a problem. whenever I start my VB, After the splash screen, the application does not load further. It simply crashes.

Further, No application which I coded in VB runs. it quits whenever i start to run the application.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall VB. But that doesn't help because neither uninstallation or installation happens.

My last option would be to format the system and start from OS installation. But as I'm working on Windows 2003 server, I'm not authenticated to do a format of my system without legal approval of my authorities. And that again is a lengthy process which I'm trying to avoid.

So any help in this regard is greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance.

- Sai

If you are not the administrator, then those IT persons who do asministrate that machine have probably opted for a more secure setup than will allow the desired application to run. The best and only suggestion I have is to check with your IT staff, as it sounds like this is a work machine that is not under your direct control.

Perhaps you can shed more light on the specifics of what is happening by checking the various log that Eventvwr.exe uses. I would think that the application log or the security log would be informative.

Also, do noting for a few minutes (to leave a time gap), then try to start VB. Once it fails, start a search of the whole system for any files modified within the last 1 day. Perhaps there is a log being written that will shed some light on what is taking place.
