Default Its not working for me
I am trying to run the client side debugger that is listed on page 709 and I put the break points in and everything and nothing happens after I click the say hello button. I even tried on two different PC using two separate versions of Visual Studio 2012 Professional with two different licences. I don't know what is going wrong. Either there is something wrong with my PCs (very unlikely that both of them would fail at the same time) or I am missing a step or something isn't working right. I will include the debug trace:

I am sorry I guess I am not being more precise in the situation at hand here. I am not seeing the windows internet explorer node in the Visual Studio 2012 solution explorer. It is nowhere to be seen as outlined step 6 on page 710. I even put in the keyword debugger above the line on page 710 of var yourname = document.GetElementByID(' Your name').value and it still doesn't hit that line of code below. A pretty pipply-squeek client side Visual Studio 2012 debuger has if you ask me.

Is your site in Release mode maybe? Check the toolbar and switch to Debug if necessary.

Also, try switching to IIS Express by right-clicking on the web site node in the Solution Explorer.

Default Nope
Sorry I just tried all of that and it is still not hitting the Javascript breakpoints inside the debugger window. It is not behaving the way you say it should in the solution explorer with the windows explorer. None of that is working. And currently the configuration manager has the application in debug mode.

The Configuration Manager doesn't affect the real setting; it just has a drop-down to look at the different configurations.

Make sure you set the Solution Configuration on the Standard toolbar to debug. Also, make sure you have debug=true in the configuration element in web.config.

Finally, debugger should work regardless what configuration you have in VS.
