Default Problems with IIS

I have a strange issue with IIS. I am running XP professional and it is up to date with all patches etc. I loaded the IIS Services, and they appear to be running OK - I checked the Services and WWW Publishing is running. I have been testing simple sites and all seems fine.
However, if I type http://localhost/localstart.asp, I get redirected to a Navexcel test page - the file cant be found. If I try postinfo.htm instead, then it finds that page.
I was at Chapter 15 and trying some ASP pages - which werent working - when I went back and tried this again.

Also, when I try the test URL button on any site I am making, I always get a error that Dreamweaver cant use the prefix to display live data - error 12029. Is that linked?

What happens when you open the Internet Information Services management console from the Start Menu or Control Panel?

Can you see IIS correctly there? What's the folder that your Default Website points to? (You'll find that on the Home Directory tab of the Properties dialog for your Default Website). Is the localstart.asp present in that folder? Maybe IIS runs fine, but localstart.asp is simply not there?

If you find that your settings are a bit messed up, you can always reinstall IIS. It will recreate the localstart.asp and other web related folders.

Regards,

Imar

I actually solved the problem last night - I was running Zone Alarm Pro, and that was stopping the ASP pages from running properly. As soon as I exited that program, everything started working again!

Thanks

Steve
