Wink

To get SQL Server/mgt studio, google a free download by searching for SQL Server 2012 -- I suggest you grab the "Enterprise" edition.

If you're a student, the dreamspark site has the 2012 & the 2014 version as well.

Thanks for the reply. I have SQL Server 2012 and the management studio installed.

My question is: I've bought the book, want to learn SQL following the instruction of the book. The book uses a sample AdventureWork database. I've downloaded the database from this website. But cannot find/open it by SQL Server 2012. What can I do?

Default "Attach"

You "attach" Adventureworks by copying it into the same folder as the system dbs.....and then, from the main studio menu, you're "attaching" the new db

There's a couple of great "google" illustrations if you search --
