Default Can you recommend this book?

I have installed php, mySql and Apache (forget what versions but I think the latest) on my Mac.
Struggling to get started although apache. myPhp and mySql seem to be working.
Can you recommend this book as a starting point?

John

I recommend this book as a learning tool. It is well written and proceeds in small steps. I have done the exercises for the first 10 chapters. There is a lot of typing to enter the code but it gives you experience in looking for typos. Punctuation is very important and can cause grief if it not done right. I presume there are other books but this was the only one in the bookstore.

I use a PC so I have no idea if there might be problems peculiar to the Mac.

Have fun!

I have worked through the first 4 chapters so far, and I think it's been a great learning tool. I would recommend it.

I also recommend this book. I'm quite a newbie to the finer and more sophisticated parts of php. I do feel very good about mySQL but the combination of these two is still hard.

'Granddad' wrote that because of the much typing, you'll learn a lot a bout the correct syntax. I do fully agree. I realize, that now I'm getting better seeing my typos and also I'm getting better having my code well organized. I thought it was well organized before, but it was not.

Buy it and learn.
Happy coding
