The section on the Event-based Asynchronous Pattern is excellent and a welcome addition to this difficult concept.

Unfortunately, the AsyncComponent example (pp. 576-581) does not implement the xxxCancelAsync method or one that reports progress to the GUI. Have the authors, or anyone else, successfully applied these two optionals to the class? If so, I would very much appreciate it if you could you post them to this forum? (MSDN's examples are just too convoluted.)
