Hi, VWD has its own web server so this isn't so much of a problem if you're just trying to debug your own web pages. However, as far as IIS is concerned, I would check that

1. You are logged on as an administrator for your machine else you won't have permission to start IIS.
2. If you look in the Services Control Panel, check that the World Wide Web Publishing service is started.

goto Start > Run and type cmd, then, when the command prompt window opens, type NET START and press enter, look for IIS in the list.

Make sure that you have .NET framework 2.0 installed etc.

try re-installing IIS
