Dear Customer Support,
I have recently installed Windows 2000 service pack 4 and my file system object on ASP classic (3.0) scripts have stopped working. Relevant pages just display a blank page with no exceptions.
I cannot read or write to the file system using a physical path (or to a non web readable folder) or to a web readable folder using server map path.
I have tried re-installing IIS 5.0, Visual Studio 6 and re-applying the service packs, but I still get the same problem.
OS: Windows 2000 server SP4
Web Server : IIS 5.0
IDE: Visual Studio 6
Language:
VB Script
IUSR has necessary permissions
Necessary error handling has been built in to pick up things like non-existent path to file or whether or not file was created.
asp.dll is not picking up any compile time errors related to this problem so the code compiles but I don't know more recent versions of certain files are not downwardly compatible.
Exact same piece of software runs on an identical machine with service pack 3.
We do not have enough literature on .Net, so I don't think we are quite ready to upgrade to VB6 or better still C#, but if it will resolve these issues it is worth considering crash coursing .Net within 52hrs.
Kind Regards
Geoffrey
