i agree wholeheartedly, however, it's unfair to assume that one who is seeking classic asp help is familiar with networking infrastructure...sure it helps a ton..and most asp developers are familiar...but some develop on shared hosting packages where they have no access to these tools, thus no way of learning....because of my experience in supporting users with no networking knowledge..i recognized his problem immediately when he stated he "had no security tab"

the reason i say "out of the box" is that when you purchase xp pro..it doesnt come with server software to act as the domain controller...nor a mcse to configure your domain..that would be against microsofts business principles of making money in ever way possible...=)
