Default image upload and display VIRUS AND TROJAN ISSUES

Hello all,

I am trying to build a renters website. The site features renters placing their ad in the website, which will be verified and published by the administrative team.

So for the site is completed with submitting details of the house only in text. I would like to add another option of adding images (atleast 1 image) per ad.

Here comes the problem,

There are two options to upload the images,

1. Directly inserting the images into the database or
2. Uploading images in a seperate directory.

The first option requires a big database so it can be passed.

Considering the second option, imagine the scenarios which i explain

The user fills the form about his ad details, selects an image to be uploaded and when he submits, the form gets uploadED to the database with the image being uploaded to a seperate directory. the uploaded image is renamed uniquely such that it is relavant to the ad. And again the image name is uploaded to the database.

the administrative team verifies the submitted ad... and republish the ad in a new public database... which is delivered in the website.

in this case the uploaded image can be reassigned to the published ad. or the image can be moved to another folder and reassigned to the published ad.

but the major problem is

How to solve the virus or trojan issues..

if the user submitting images are infected with virus or trojans how to identify it and rectify it.

I can assume the longest approach is download the image, scan with you local scanner and reupload. but this is a tedious process which takes more time when more than 1000 ads coming to the site.

can anyone suggest me how to verify the image file, whether it is infected with virus or trojan in the server rather than downloading to the local computer and reuploading.

thanx very much in advance

MACH
