Default Safari not rendering div inside table

Thanks for reading.

I've completed a layout of two div layers within a table that works in Mozilla and (miraculously) in IE as well. Safari however, will not show the divs.

Am I missing something?

Another side issue is the phantom space at the bottom of the page and subsequent unecessary scroll bar. This happens in all browsers. I've poured over the code and can't seem to figure it out.

Any help would be much appreciated :)

You are missing validation.;)

See if fixing the errors helps. You are also using XHTML syntax in a HTML document, alternatively you use the wrong doctype.
