I am using DW MX and after updating to 6.1 I got FTP problems.
I am behind "firewall" more KEN DSL-Router.
But with my settings I could load up files in version 6.0.
Right now I can connect to the server an see my remote files but I cannot load up any files.
This means any time I try to upload a file the window wait for Server pops up.
Using Win Xp Pro SP2 (The win firewall has a rules which allows dw to communicate)...

Thanks for any help pointing me in the right direction to solve this problem.

I have the exact same setup - mx6.1 - xp sp2 - dsl router - and I am not having this problem. Whenever I have a waiting for server message it usually has something to do with my web host. Have you made any other changes? I would probably go edit my site and make sure that all the settings are correct - test each connection. Wish I could be more helpful.

Like I said it connects but I become the waiting screen whenever I try to load up some stuff.
I also tried to use other FTP-Application like Filezilla and WinSPC and it worked so it might not be something with the hoster...

Maybe we can compare the settings which should be made (ofcourse I don't want to share your basic information like pw and user etc).
But If it is Ok with you ... it might would help...

My settings are pretty standard - here they are
local info - not important - other than http://address: http://www.domain.com

for remote info -

access: ftp
ftp host: domain.com
login: name
password *****
after that - I don't have any of the check boxes selected.

Testing server is similiar:
server model: asp vbscript
access: ftp
ftp host: domain.com
host directory: (blank)
login: name
password *****
no check boxes selected.
url prefix: http://domain.com/

Thanks cedwards ... the settings look like mine, but it is still not working. Dam it ... i can login but everytime I try to load up a file pops this waíting window up and stays like forever... until I terminate it with cancel.

I might end up uninstalling the version 6.1 and start over with installing the 6.0 ... (when I have time...)

Hi there,

Can't recall if it was there already in DW 6, but DW 7 has a "Use Passive FTP" checkbox on the Site Definition dialog.

Did you try that (if you have it)?
