Default swedish characters

I am creating a searchable site, but haveing problems with the swedish characters Ã¥ ä ö, which becomes å ... ä .... ö.

If I search a word like Åke it can't be found since DW types it like åke

I have tried to change it but it keeps changing back. What can do?

Hi Ronnie,

Dreamweaver changes special characters when you type them in Design View. This is done to ensure that the characters are displayed well in most browsers.

If you don't want that, you can type them in Code View directly.

I founded a solution to make inserts and search with sweadish chars.
You have to use charset utf-8

MSDN articles:
"INF: Storing UTF-8 Data in SQL Server"
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;232580
"INFO: Internet Explorer Always POSTs Unicode Data as UTF-8"
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;303612 -- this
article has informative links at the bottom of the page, too.
