Default tying in animation to music

Hi,

While I know that streaming audio and animation via the timeline in Flash is pretty straight forward. I would like to have sound ON/OFF buttons. But that wouldn't interfere with the animation-sound relationship once the volume is back "on".

I find that "linkage" causes delays depending on the CPU available. I've worked around the button-behaviors with the setVolume method. But the animation is still a little out of sync.
Any sugestions to improve overall quality of output?

Thank you,

nancy
