Wrox Authors, Readers, and Friends:
In September 2019 we closed these Wrox forums to new members due to the overwhelming amount of spam and spam account registrations. Today I'm announcing that we are turning off posting for all regular members and as of October 1, 2020, the forums will be converted to a static read-only format.
Over the last two years, the new books we've published have shifted to direct readers to Wiley's 24x7 technical support team (
http://hub.wiley.com) to funnel questions from legitimate readers there to the editors and authors. Going forward if you have any questions specific to Wrox book content, the technical support team is the place to ask.
It's been my real pleasure to interact with so many of you here in the Wrox forums. I'm being honest when I say I have really been enriched by interacting with you and the small part I played here.
Without playing favorites I'd be remiss if I didn't thank 2 authors for their incredible contributions over the years:
Imar Spaanjaars and Michael Kay, your contributions through your books and patient answers to questions here were the backbone and heartbeat of this site. I am forever grateful for the time you spent here. Candidly, I would have shut this site years ago if it weren't for your work.
The static site should retain all of the threads and member posting data (so everyone will always see that Imar had more than 17,000 posts).
Outside of Wrox.com and questions about Wrox books, you probably know that there are many other good programmer forums with larger numbers of users better equipped to answer your general programming questions.
