Default Need your advice on becoming a professional Progra

Hi all,
Please I need your advice. Am a Radio QoS Engineer with Alcatel at the moment. I do a lot of database programming using VB6 and macros.
I really do enjoy programming but feel i don't programme professionally. I would love to be a guru in Microsoft Visual Studio.net but I don't know how to go about it.
I have a friend who told me about a programming program with karrox for two year but I found out its on 1.0 framework. I would like to be current.
I also would love to start from beginners level in prgramming which they do offer as I learnt VB6 on my own by searching for the particular thing i wanted to do, reading and practicalising it.
Does Microsoft training kit do a good job?
Please what is your advice to me
Thank you for your response.

Tons of video tutorials out there... that's how I started. Look at .NET 2.0 and up... (frameworks)

Learn C#. (try you tube, otherwise tons of video tutorials you can buy or find free ones.)

Get familiar with Object Oriented Programming concepts...

Google is your best friend :)
