Default Using Java Applets and the <object> tag

The applet tag has been deprecated in HTML 4.01 and therefore in XHTML Strict.

Can anyone tell me how to insert a java applet onto a page.
When i use the attribute data instead of code to point to the applet, it does not display.

Thanks in advance

Alexander.M.Pizzoferro.

copy class file in the same directory where your page file are save.
or
simply copy applet code into the page. and class file save same
folder.

This does not really answer my question.
I have the code linked to the applet file and it does not work.
My applet code is already on the page. what you have said is obvious.
Thanks for trying though.

Does anyone know the correct code to insert a java applet into a HTML page using the <object> tag???

Thanks for the link!

Unfortunatly i have another problem.
The following code is correct for using the <object> tag:
<object codetype="application/java"
        classid="java:Bubbles.class"
        width="500" height="500">
</object>
When i use this with a dropdown menu in another frame, it crashes the applet.
The code which works although wont be valid is as follows:
<object code="slidem.class" codetype="application/java"
        width="500" height="500">
</object>

As you can see, there is no classid attribute.
I am guessing that classid="java:slidem.class" is not valid for this applet somehow.

Does anyone know how i can get the correct class id or of another wy in which i can get this applet to work?

Thanks in advance
