Default stored procedure

Since mysql does not support stored procedures.
I would like to know what are the ways to get around it?
I guess the most obvious is to write php functions to substitude. But that way, you cannot store any recordset.

Is there any other ways to do this?

Thanks

Well,
I am new to the MySQL, I had tried to use stored procedure, using version 5.0 upgraded from 4.1, and it sort of work, should explained in the HTML manuals in the DOC directory.
My question is where does MySQL keeps the the stored procedures. In SQL Server, it keeps under each database, but can't find the same for MySQL... any1 knows????

Cheers
Kasie

The documentation on Stored procedures in Mysql version 5, does not look good or professional like any other product. One got to really wait to know on that until they update the documentation.

May be you can search for that in the Master DB, if not there, it is better to do some research on that on our own. It is hard to find anything from documentation on your query.

Will keep you posted, if found any progress.
Cheers!
