Default Message: SQL Server is not known to be running

Hi,

Whenerver I open SQL SERVER Enterprise , I get a message

SQL SERVER IS NOT KNOWN TO BE RUNNING. ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO CONNECT

I installed SQL Server 7 Desktop edition on WINDOWS XP

Not sure about the Desktop version, but you can have the SQL "service" run at startup or by manually starting it. Maybe that is what it is referring to. Enterprise Mgr is kind of like a "front end" and the "back end" needs to be running before it "sees" it.
