Default [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (connect()).]SQL Server

Before our server was replaced, all client pc's can access the SQL 2000. After replacing the server, one of the clients is having this error ([DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.) when trying to run a Windows Form application. The same application is run with other clients and they don't have any error message. The application was re-installed on the client having this problem but the same error message appears.
I will appreciate any input to rectify this issue.
Thanks.

Hi!

This problem has been discussed in - (Microsoft KB)
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888228/en-us

I figure out that - You can solve this problem by making some changes in connection string of client. You can also check-out IP address. There may be some error.

Try to ping the client node (PC). If connection is proper, also connect to the node as administrator to client. There are cases where connecting to node may solve this problem automatically.
Some people also suggest that using IP Address instead of server name could solve this problem.

Thanks. I'll try that and I'll post the result.
