I have been trying to schedule a backup on SQL Server(2000) Enterprise Manager, Backup under SQL server agent, when I schedule a time(e.g 18:00) daily, it works when I run the schedule immediately, but it fails with a daily schedule,would anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Is it failing or not running?

Perhaps there is a permissions problem. When it runs on the schedule it's running under a different user than when you manually start it.

If it isn't actually running, check that the SQL Server Agent is running.

Thanks for your reply.
It is not running at all under the scheduled one, that's what I don't understand the permission, the SQL Server Agent is running all the time, I checked SQL Server Agent property, the default is under the General tab using localsystem, Connection tab default to window's login, which one should I use, if I can would it affect any other schedules?
