Hello,

I have accidentally deleted logins on my SQL Server 2005 Database.

Can you guide if there is a way to get these logins back in sql server 2005.

With 2000 we could have restored the master back and then got this back.

How do we get this done in sql server 2005

You can do the same with SQL Server 2005 (restore the master db) but you lose any changes made to the master database since the last backup.

Thanks for your reply.

I started the server in single user mode and restored the master so all my logins were restored but the users that were also deleted were not restored automatically, Before that i had taken a back up of the User databases and then after the master DB was restored i restarted the SQL server normally and then restored the USer database one by one and all my users were back and they were properly mapped to the logins.

can you provide me some useful link which talks about the different objects that can be restored from master and objects most likely to be affected once the master is restored.
