Default Upgrade to SQL Server 2005 from 2000

Good morning.

I need to upgrade to SQL Server 2005 from 2000.

Are there pitfalls to watch out for when upgrading? Is it straight-forward?

Also, I believe 2005 uses schema. Can this be an issue? After upgrading to 2005, is it necessary to configure a schema in the database?

Thank you for your help.

Sal

Books Online has an entire section on Upgrading to 2005. There is also an Upgade Advisor (also discussed in BOL) which analyzes instances of SQL Server 2000 and reports any known upgrade issues.
