Default Displaying other programs Icons

Hi all,
When windows loads up, it loads up all the icons associated with the the apps they refer to such as internet explorer has the e etc, i was wondering how i could do this within my app, and also if it uses the registry, you'll have to make it extra clear because i've never delved into registry stuff!

Cheers in advance

What you need exactly?? if you use a listview, and load Icons on it you will see them. There is no registry, it just extract the icon from the exe and show it. So, you need code for that?? Google will have the answer (and it's very easy).

I have not found out how to do it yet so it can't be that easy!

Google doesn't give me answers, of which I need.

You know what your looking for, so you find it on google then make it into a readable post so that i can fully understand it. If google had the answer I wouldn't be posting on this forum would I?!

For displaying objects you don't need registry. Only if you want to load your app when OS starts, then you can use registry.
For that you need function that creates regkey and its value that will be loaded.

If you started with something, paste some code, ideas here, and i'll try to help.
