Default Frustrated

After searching several books, including several wrox books I am confused. There is no information out there illustrating how to do commport/RS323 (or its big brother) USB programming. My initial observation of VS2010 programming in VB and C++ is that it is now very convoluded.

C'mon guys and gals I know someone out there is doing this kind of programming. It seems like the older types of IO are ignored with most of the authors today.

Can anyone suggest a source for this type of information please.

Lightbulb Shouldn't be as hard as they make it.

National Controll Devices is where I would Start. They helped me out a lot when I was starting this 6-8 years ago. http://controlanything.com...

I am currently using Modules from Cyberresearch http://cyberresearch.com altho as of 6 months ago They have no support for Windows 7.

Good Luck with this and please repost if you find a solution as I will be looking for the same info as soon as I get my front end software up and running.

Whenever I work with a com port I use third-party custom control.
