Default Beginning Red Hat Linux 9

I bought this book because I thought it had the most complete information on what I needed: setting up Linux, and connecting that machine to a home network where all the other machines run Windows. Then the disappointment set in. I have an older machine that will not boot from the CD. I have checked the internet, and it just won't do it. So, I need to create a generic boot floppy, boot from that and get the setup to run from the CD. There is NO information in the book on how to do it. I had to surf the internet to get info on creating a boot disk. I did it, and now get the prompt they show in the book. But, still can't get it to look at the CD to boot. Posted a message in the correct forum, got 12 reads and no answers. So far, I have no interest in ever buying another book from WROX. Incomplete info, and no help.

This book was published by Peer under the Wrox brand. It is no longer a Product of Wrox under the leadership of Wiley.

While other people who visit these forums might be able to help you. Wiley/Wrox as an entity has no access to the book, source code or author. As a result support can not be provided by the folx at Wiley.

You will need to contact APRESS. They purcased all of the Wrox titles that Wiley did not buy in liquidation.

Actually, this book is under the Wiley umbrella. I will send your message over to someone who can help.

If you've come across a technical error, information you think is missing, or other problems of that nature, you can post questions in the forum for the book:
http://p2p.wrox.com/book-asp-net-website-programming-problem-design-solution-23/7
and other readers might help you there.

Or you can submit the issue to our tech support staff:
