Default Starting Out Plz Help

Yes , i am trying to build a site where member's can signup , have a custom profile with info based on thier signup field's , edit thier pro's , put picture's on thier profile's and other thing's.

What are the step's to doing this? Im new to programming
I have asp.net . web matrix , msde 1.0a.

So i use access to create database's and MSDE to run them? or Access is the sql? im very lost.

Im coming from a linux/mysql world , and everything is different here.

I reccomend getting Beginnig ASP.NET 1.1 with Visual C# or VB.NET.
