Default php installation for win xp pro

hi
I am very new to php, I got iis6 server install on my win xp pro which runs my asp file smoothly but when I save file with php extention it shows me same code in the browser.

so i install win installer 5.2.2 which has created new folder in c/programme files called php, when i run info.php file,which is save in that folder,it works
but when i save other php file it gives me 404 error

this is very complicated for me
please someone suggest me what to do

when you run the php installer from www.php.net are you sure you selected iis and not apache?
