Default Chapter 2 issue with CSS

I am trying to implement the CSS from chapter 2. I created my master file. I then decided to save some typing so I stole the default.css from the downloaded code. I was surpised to find that it didn't compile because of the css properties like filter and opacity not being valid properties. What I am confused about is that when I compile the completed downloaded version of the project, your code has the same errors, except that the re build all indicates that the build was successful. My assumption is that you have some sort of build switch that displays, but ignores CSS errors.

Can you point me in the correct direction so that I can get around these problems. For now I am going to remove the offending code since the code in the book for chapter 2 didn't use opacity or filter.

Thanks

Default Chapter 2 issue with CSS - in the BOOK: ASP.NET 3.5 Website Programming Problem Desig

So far I have not found a solution or been offered one for the problem. I plan to read chapter 3 over the weekend. If I find the code doesn't work or the chapter is not clear then I am going to return the book. These books are supposed to make our lives easier, not harder.

Default Css Problem

While I am not so sure that the book is as good as you think it might be, I decided not to return it. I am disappointed that the author hasn't responded. I guess I got spoiled with the fast and frequent responses from you get from Imar when you post a question about one of the books that he has written,
