Default Administration Tool and Strong PW

Hi I just bought the Beggining ASP.Net 2.0 book last week. I'm actually using Visual studio Standard edition (not the exporess) I ended up scoring a copy of it at a Microsoft .Net Event.

anyways I'm currently on chapter 4 Membership and Identity I noticed that in order to properly make a user in the Administration tool you need to have a minimu of 7 characters and one character has to be Non alpha numeric. now on some site i could see this strict requirement for a strong password but if the site is just a basic community website with a message fourm I see that as a bit overkill. and I know several users don't put non alphanumeric characters in their password.

my question is can you set this restriction to allow any character and not require a non alphanumeric character??

just wondering
