Default Error on executing script files

Hello Sir,
By following up your book I have come to the deployment, and I have deployed the one on real server.
Everything was fine, but I have one problem regarding executing script file.
script files does not get executed and hence no database is created of the same schema as that of the original database at local server.
Sir I request you, may you please check the problem and execute the files. Sir if you agree then I can give you the login details and script files at your email Id.

I had talked about it to web host providers but I don't think that they are able to resolve the problem as it has been more than 6 days by raising the issue regarding this.
So please sir I am requesting you have a look at the problem and generate the databases as without all the efforts are vain.

Thank you sir.

Hi there,

I can take a look, but with a few conditions:

1. No guarantees. If I blow up your site, whipe your database or kill your giraffe while trying, you're out of luck.

2. I can only spend a short time on this. If it takes longer, you have to talk to your host, or consider getting a different host. I don't intend to become your support guy ;-)

3. You need to do some work in advance and tell me exactly where I need to be to manage the database. In other words, I don't have the time (or the desire) to read help files or FAQs on the host's site just trying to figure out how to log in.

If this all makes sense to you, contact me through my web site. I'll reply so you know my e-mail address. Then please send me a zipped file containing the database scripts and a readme file with the full instructions to contact your host and upload the database.

Cheers,

Imar

First of all thank you for positive response sir.
And I am aware of issues that you have told me here. Just as you said

Sir, I had already removed the other files because the other colleagues gave a try and for that I was to supply the login details and also told me the same facts as you have said. So there is only one Default page currently in the whole site.
Sir for this I am sending a message from your site entitled "Error on executing script files"
Sir please have a look there and please provide your email address so that I may send you the rar file containing script files and Read me, in this document I have provided all information and hope you will not need to go to any FAQ or knowledge database.
Thank you sir.

Sir I have sent you the rar file at your email Id which I got from the auto response email when I did send a message at your site. This file contains scripts and read me file which describes how to proceed.
Sir have a look at the problem because without database it does not mean to have a site.
Thank you sir.

Hi there,

Excellent instructions and walkthrough. I was able to get in and reproduce the problem in minutes.

Here's the error I am getting:

Invalid object name 'sys.foreign_keys'.

This seems to suggest the server is running an older version of SQL Server: SQL Server 2000. The scripts created by Visual Studio are compatible with 2005 and 2008 only.

So, I think you need you need to confirm with your host if a) they are indeed using SQL Server 2000 and b) if they have 2005 / 2008 as an option for you as well.

For more info, and people with similar problems:

http://thewebjedi.com/cs/blogs/medit...rver-2000.aspx
http://www.google.com/#hl=en&q=sys.f...4aa51310bf9075

You may be able to use the tip described in the first link to generate 2000 compatible scripts, but I think you'll run into other compatibility issues (data types that don't exist in 2000 for example).

Cheers,

Imar

Thank you sir for spending your precious time on the problem and now I am talking to the host providers regarding Sql server version.
Once the problem is resolved I'll definitely post the solution here so that others may get benefit if they had fallen in the same issue.
Thank you once again and telling what actually Invalid object name 'sys.foreign_keys'. means

Hello sir, I did talk to them and it was as expected by you.
They are saying that it is supporting 2000 only but on the plan sheet it was 2005. So now I know how to talk with them.
Thank you sir for your interest in problem and telling me the actual problem.

Sir, actually technical department committed their mistake, and now billing department may provide to link to access the 2005.
But I do not rely on them anymore. I am trying to convert the script in 2000 compatible one. Hope it will work.
And once again thank you for telling actual problem otherwise I could just have asked them that why script is not running.

Default Good News Sir

Hello Sir,
As per your instructions I told them to create databases of 2005 type. And they have created as well. Also recently I have executed the script for ASPNETDB successfully. But sir please tell me where the stored procedures go. I did execute the script on local server as well prior executing it on the server, there also I did not notice any stored procedures.
Sir I have one more que. that will it be possible to regenerate the database with different script entirely if yes then how it can be? Well for changing only the particular column or row I know how to do that but for changing the complete schema for existing database what could be done.

Well thank you sir for having look at the problem on request, test it and giving me the real problem behind the scene otherwise I could just kept asking them why script does not execute.

I hope for the best in future and thank you once again sir.
