Default The Database Connection in Chapter 16 - DW-MX

Hi Imar,

I am referring to chapter 16 of Beginning Dreamweaver MX – The Database Connection Try-it-out on Page 587.

After typing the connection string as given in the book and pressing the Test button, I get the following error message:

[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Could not find file ‘(unknown)’
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver’s SQLSetConnectAttr failed.

In the previous chapters I had created the connection string (using the ‘Provider’ parameter) and it worked fine.

What could be wrong now?

Shubhada.

How does your connection string look like? Is it pointing to the right path?

Alternatively, you can use the OleDb driver as used in TheSoccerSite. Just change the path and the database name and everything should work as expected....

Cheers,

Imar

I found out what had happened. The path was right, but I had not *put* the database manually - so it was not there on the remote server. After I put it, the connection worked.

Thanks.

Shubhada.
